Why do Dogs eat "Grass" and "Vomit"?
Replies
Dogs eat grass in case of gastric upset. If the level of acid increases they eat fibre (grass) and as a mechanism induces vomition which make them feel better.

Actually, when dogs eat indigestible food or have an upset stomach, dogs will eat grass. This is because the fiber in plants can promote their intestinal peristalsis, promote the digestion of other food to a certain extent, and finally excrete it.

If the grass is eaten in gulps and your dog vomits, or there is a sudden increase in grass eating, it's time to talk with your veterinarian. Thanku ๐

Dogs need roughage in their diets and grass is a good source of fiber. A lack of roughage affects the dog's ability to digest food and pass stool so they are seen eating grass

In dogs, eating grass may have the same effect in acting as a 'natural antacid'. Most dogs appear to feel better after eating grass, but this relief is often temporary as most dogs vomit afterwards

Dogs also have gaseous problems. Gas is simply a sign of gastrointestinal upset and if your dog is feeling gassy they will try to lessen the uncomfortable sensations they are having. They will alleviate gassy feelings by eating certain plants, causing them to have a bowel movement or vomit.

If your dog has an upset stomach, they may also use leaves and grass as a way to make themselves vomit and get rid of whatever is causing them gastrointestinal pain. it's normal they just consume it for their own relief

And pawrents, what about plucking leaves?
Gadhu did earlier quite a lot many times, though not much now. Do your furbabies also pluck out leaves?
